
Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born March 22, 1976. Her many accolades include an Academy Award, British Academy Film Award and Primetime Emmy Award. She was also honored with two Golden Globe Awards. Time magazine and Forbes both listed her as one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in the years of 2015 and 2006 respectively. In 2021, Forbes named her the highest-paid actress in the world, with an estimated amount of $400 million.Witherspoon began her career as a teenager, making her film debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). Her breakout came in 1999, with a supporting role in Cruel Intentions and her performance as Tracy Flick in the black comedy Election. Her fame grew with her role as Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and the sequel, Legally Blonde 2003, as well as for her performance in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002).
